DhanRakshak is designed with a privacy-first, local-first approach. Your financial data belongs to you and is stored securely on your device.
1. Data Storage
By default, all financial data (expenses, savings, analytics, etc.) is stored locally on your device.
No personal financial data is transmitted to any external server unless you explicitly enable a feature that requires it.
2. Cloud Sync (Optional)
If you sign in and enable Cloud Sync:
- Your personal app data may be securely backed up to the cloud.
- This includes expenses, categories, savings goals, and preferences.
- Data is encrypted in transit and stored securely.
- You may disable cloud sync at any time from the app settings.
3. Splitwise Integration (Optional, Read-Only)
If you connect your Splitwise account:
- DhanRakshak accesses your groups, balances, and expenses in read-only mode.
- No changes are made to your Splitwise account — no expenses are created, modified, or deleted.
- Splitwise data is not stored permanently in our systems.
- It is used only to display synced information inside the app.
- You may disconnect your Splitwise account at any time.
4. Analytics & Tracking
DhanRakshak does not collect personal analytics or track user behavior across apps or websites.
Any insights shown in the app are computed locally on your device.
5. Permissions
The app may request permissions for:
- File access (for importing bank statements)
- Notifications (for reminders & budget alerts)
- Network access (for cloud sync and integrations)
Permissions are only used for their intended functionality.
6. Your Control
You can:
- Delete your local data anytime from the app
- Disable cloud sync and delete cloud backups
- Disconnect third-party integrations (Splitwise)
- Export or clear app data
- Delete your account and all associated data — see Account & Data Deletion
7. Data Security
- All sensitive data stored locally is encrypted
- Cloud backups use industry-standard encryption
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
- Authentication is handled securely using industry standards
8. Third-Party Services
DhanRakshak may integrate with third-party services such as:
- Splitwise (for viewing group expenses and balances, read-only)
- Google Sign-In (for authentication)

DhanRakshak is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
