DhanRakshak is built with a privacy-first, local-first approach. You are always in full control of your data. This page explains how to delete your account, your data, or both.
What Data Does DhanRakshak Store?
- Local data (on your device): Expenses, budgets, savings goals, categories, and preferences — stored in the app's local database.
- Cloud data (optional): If you enabled Cloud Sync, an encrypted backup of your data is stored securely in the cloud.
- Account information: If you signed in with Google, your display name and email are used for authentication only.
How to Delete Your Local Data
You can delete all locally stored data directly from the app:
- Open DhanRakshak on your device.
- Go to Settings (tap the gear icon on the Profile screen).
- Tap Data Management.
- Select Delete Everything to remove all expenses, budgets, savings goals, and categories.
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
You can also delete specific data types individually (expenses only, savings goals only, etc.) from the same Data Management screen.
How to Delete Your Cloud Data
If you enabled Cloud Sync and want to remove your cloud backup:
- Open DhanRakshak on your device.
- Go to Settings > Cloud Sync.
- Tap Delete Cloud Data under Advanced Options.
- Confirm the deletion. This removes all cloud-stored data while keeping your local data intact.
How to Delete Your Account
DhanRakshak uses Google Sign-In for authentication. To fully remove your account:
- Delete your local data following the steps above.
- Delete your cloud data if Cloud Sync was enabled.
- Sign out from the app (Profile screen > Sign Out).
- Uninstall the app from your device.
- Optionally, revoke DhanRakshak's access from your Google account at Google Account Permissions.
Once these steps are completed, no data associated with your account remains — either on your device or in the cloud.

Data Retention
DhanRakshak does not retain any of your data after deletion. Once deleted:
- Local data is permanently removed from your device's database.
- Cloud data is permanently removed from the cloud storage.
- No copies, backups, or logs of your financial data are kept.

All data deletion is fully self-service — you can delete everything directly from within the app without contacting us. No request or approval is needed.
